The Greening, along with an army of volunteers, planted nearly 9,000 trees in Detroit and Hamtramck during 2015. Many were planted on city streets, in parks, and along boulevards.
We cannot do it alone. Each year, we recruit between 4,000 and 6,000 volunteerS to help us plant trees, clean up parks, and work in farm gardens. There are plenty of opportunities to dig in the dirt and make a positive difference in Detroit.
but that's not all! if diggin in the dirt is not your thing but you still want to help you can sign up to be a green champion! green champions can help us by helping out with classes at the farm, attend fairs or work at our office. we have a lot of work you can help us with.
You can register for tree plantings as an individual, or coordinate a group effort with your friends, colleagues or organization. The benefits are tangible, immediate, and ultimately improve the quality of life for thousands of citizens. You can volunteer for a community tree planting or provide ongoing maintenance for green projects of every kind.
We can’t wait to see you!
