Since 1989, The Greening of Detroit has mobilized thousands of volunteers to plant trees across the city, improving neighborhood health, safety, and connection, while addressing climate challenges. Each year, 2,000-5,000 volunteers have contributed to planting over 166,000 trees in Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park. We're as committed to reforesting Detroit as we were in 1989 and look forward to planting many more trees with our dedicated volunteers and community partners.
